Description

Crispy and flavorful Air Fryer Banana Chips made from sliced green or yellow bananas, lightly coated with cinnamon and avocado oil for a deliciously healthy snack ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Banana Chips Ingredients

  • 2 bananas (green or yellow, not ripe)
  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil (or olive oil)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) and let it run for 5 minutes to ensure it reaches the proper cooking temperature for even crisping.
  2. Slice the bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into 1/4 inch thick pieces. Place the slices in a large mixing bowl for coating.
  3. Prepare the cinnamon oil: In a small bowl, mix together 2 teaspoons of avocado oil and 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon until well combined.
  4. Coat the banana slices: Pour the cinnamon oil mixture over the banana slices, gently tossing to ensure each slice is evenly coated without bruising.
  5. Air fry the banana chips: Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary. Cook at 300°F for 25-28 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through to promote even browning and crispiness.
  6. Cool and crisp up: Remove the banana chips from the air fryer and place them on a cooling rack or plate. Let cool for 5-10 minutes to allow them to crisp up perfectly before serving.

Notes

  • Use green or slightly yellow bananas, as ripe bananas will be too soft and won’t crisp well.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of salt over the banana slices before cooking if desired.
  • Store leftover banana chips in an airtight container to keep them crispy.
  • If your air fryer basket is small, cook in multiple batches to avoid overcrowding.
