- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
For the Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
Additional Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cups snow peas, trimmed
- 1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms (shiitake or cremini preferred)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 green onions, sliced for garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and oil. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- Prepare the Sauce: Mix oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, beef broth, sesame oil, and brown sugar in a separate bowl.
- Cook the Beef: Sear marinated beef in a hot skillet, then set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, sauté garlic and ginger, then add mushrooms and snow peas.
- Combine Ingredients: Return beef to the skillet, pour in sauce, and cook until thickened.
- Serve: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For extra heat, add crushed red pepper flakes or chili garlic sauce to the stir-fry sauce.
- Can be served over rice or noodles.
