Description

This Banana Caramel Nut Cheesecake is a luscious dessert featuring a creamy cream cheese filling baked on a buttery graham cracker crust, topped with fresh banana slices, rich caramel sauce, and crunchy nuts. Perfect for celebrations or a sweet treat, this cheesecake balances smooth textures and delightful flavors for an indulgent experience.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Filling

  • 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sour cream

Toppings

  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • ½ cup caramel sauce
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare pan. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan to ensure the cheesecake doesn’t stick.
  2. Make the crust. In a bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until combined. Press this mixture firmly into the base of the springform pan. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then remove and allow to cool completely.
  3. Prepare the filling. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar together until smooth and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and sour cream until fully incorporated.
  4. Bake the cheesecake. Pour the cream cheese batter evenly over the cooled crust. Bake for 50-60 minutes, until the center is just slightly jiggly but mostly set.
  5. Cool gradually. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside with the door slightly ajar for 1 hour to cool slowly, which helps prevent cracking. Then refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours or overnight to fully set.
  6. Add toppings and serve. Before serving, top the chilled cheesecake with banana slices, drizzle with caramel sauce, and sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over the top.

Notes

  • For best results, use room temperature cream cheese to ensure a smooth filling.
  • You can substitute walnuts for pecans or use other nuts according to preference.
  • Ensure not to overbake; a slightly jiggly center indicates the cheesecake is perfectly cooked.
  • Refrigerating the cheesecake overnight enhances flavor and texture.
  • Use a water bath if you want an extra creamy texture and to avoid cracking.
