Ingredients
Scale
Dough and Fruit
- 2 cans refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Glaze
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Generously grease a bundt pan to prevent sticking and allow easy release of the monkey bread after baking.
- Prepare Dough Pieces: Cut each biscuit from the refrigerated dough into quarters. Place all dough pieces into a large mixing bowl. Add the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon, and toss thoroughly until every piece of dough is evenly coated with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Layer Dough and Blueberries: Begin layering the cinnamon-sugar coated dough pieces and fresh blueberries alternately into the prepared bundt pan, spreading them evenly. Continue layering until all dough pieces and blueberries are used.
- Make and Add Glaze: In a separate bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter and brown sugar, mixing well to create a smooth glaze. Pour this mixture evenly over the layers of dough and blueberries in the bundt pan, allowing it to seep through and add sweetness and moisture.
- Bake: Place the bundt pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. The monkey bread is done when the top is golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the pan from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes so the glaze sets slightly. Carefully invert the bundt pan onto a serving plate to release the monkey bread. Serve warm to enjoy the deliciously gooey, pull-apart texture.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh blueberries rather than frozen to prevent excess moisture.
- Make sure to grease the bundt pan well to easily remove the monkey bread after baking.
- Serve with a side of cream cheese or vanilla glaze for an extra indulgent treat.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, reheat gently before serving.
