Ingredients
Scale
Tomato Mixture
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups cherry tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon balsamic glaze, plus more for drizzling
Cheese Mixture
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Garnish
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the dip.
- Sauté Garlic: Heat olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Cook Tomatoes: Add the finely chopped cherry tomatoes to the skillet along with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the tomatoes soften slightly.
- Add Balsamic Glaze: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of balsamic glaze to the tomato mixture for a touch of sweetness and acidity.
- Mix Cheeses: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, shredded provolone, and grated Parmesan. Mix until smooth and well blended.
- Assemble Dip: Spread the cheese mixture evenly into a small oven-safe baking dish, then spoon the tomato mixture evenly over the top.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, sprinkle chopped fresh basil over the top, and drizzle with additional balsamic glaze if desired. Serve warm with toasted bread or crackers.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes to the tomato mixture.
- This dip pairs especially well with toasted baguette slices or garlic crostini.
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing and a creamier texture.
- Use fresh basil for the best aroma and flavor punch.
