Ingredients
Scale
For the Burgers
- 2 pounds 80% lean ground chuck
- 1 packet (1 ounce) dry ranch seasoning/dressing mix
- 2 teaspoons pureed chipotles in adobo sauce (found in Mexican food aisle)
For the Chipotle Ranch Sauce
- 1 cup prepared ranch dressing
- 1 tablespoon chipotles in adobo sauce
For Assembly
- 6 hamburger buns
- 6 slices cheddar cheese
- Tomato slices
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced red onion
Instructions
- Prepare the Burger Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck, dry ranch seasoning, and 2 teaspoons of pureed chipotles in adobo sauce. Use clean hands to mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Then, divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape each into a hamburger patty.
- Make the Chipotle Ranch Sauce: In a medium bowl, mix together the prepared ranch dressing and 1 tablespoon of chipotles in adobo sauce until well blended. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator to chill until ready to use.
- Grill the Burgers: Heat an outdoor grill or an indoor grill pan to medium-high heat. Grill the patties to your desired doneness, typically medium-well for about 4 to 5 minutes per side. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
- Assemble the Burgers: Place each hot cheeseburger on the bottom half of a hamburger bun. Spoon about two tablespoons of the chilled chipotle ranch sauce onto each burger. Add tomato slices, lettuce, and red onion on top. Cover with the top bun and serve immediately for a delicious, smoky, and creamy burger experience.
Notes
- For spicier burgers, increase the amount of chipotles in adobo sauce in the patty mix and sauce.
- You can substitute the cheddar cheese with pepper jack or your preferred cheese for a different flavor.
- Use fresh vegetables for best texture and taste.
- If you don’t have access to chipotles in adobo, smoked paprika and hot sauce can be used as a substitute.
- Make sure to let the burgers rest a few minutes after grilling to retain juices.
