Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Breading:
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Sandwich Assembly:
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying
- 4 sandwich rolls or brioche buns
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce
- 1/2 cup Caesar dressing
- 1/4 cup additional grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Prepare Chicken: Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and gently pound to an even thickness to ensure even cooking.
- Set up Breading Station: Arrange three shallow bowls: one with flour mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper; one with beaten eggs; and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese for the coating.
- Bread the Chicken: Dredge each chicken breast first in the seasoned flour mixture, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat thoroughly in the panko-Parmesan breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere the coating.
- Fry the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the breaded chicken breasts for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Toast the Buns: Spread softened butter on the sandwich rolls and toast them lightly in a skillet or oven until golden and slightly crisp.
- Assemble Sandwich: Slice the cooked chicken breasts and place them on the bottom halves of the toasted rolls. Top with chopped romaine lettuce, drizzle generously with Caesar dressing, and sprinkle with additional grated Parmesan cheese.
- Serve: Place the top buns on each sandwich and serve immediately while the chicken is hot and crispy.
Notes
- For a lighter version, bake the breaded chicken in a preheated 400°F oven for 20 to 25 minutes instead of frying.
- Add sliced tomato or crispy bacon to your sandwich for extra flavor and texture.
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy, golden crust without absorbing excess oil.
