Description

These Delicious & Nourishing Date & Nut Energy Bars are a wholesome and naturally sweet snack perfect for on-the-go energy. Packed with dates, nuts, oats, and a touch of honey or maple syrup, these bars offer a delightful chewy texture with a hint of vanilla and sea salt to balance flavors. Easy to make and bake, they are an ideal treat for breakfast, post-workout, or midday boosts.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup dates, pitted
  • 1 cup nuts (almonds, walnuts, or any mix)
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup nut butter (almond or peanut)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it reaches the right cooking temperature for baking the bars evenly.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a food processor, add the pitted dates, nuts, oats, honey or maple syrup, nut butter, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
  3. Blend the mixture: Pulse and blend the mixture until all the ingredients are well combined and form a sticky, coarse dough-like consistency that holds together.
  4. Press into pan: Line a baking pan with parchment paper and firmly press the mixture evenly into the pan to form a compact layer.
  5. Bake the bars: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the top turns a beautiful golden brown color, signaling they are properly cooked.
  6. Cool and cut: Allow the baked mixture to cool completely in the pan to set properly, then cut into 12 bars of desired size.

Notes

  • Use a mix of your favorite nuts like almonds and walnuts for varied texture and flavor.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount or type of sweetener used, such as honey or maple syrup.
  • For a vegan version, use maple syrup instead of honey and ensure nut butter is free of animal products.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
  • These bars can be customized by adding seeds, dried fruits, or chocolate chips.
