Peach Syrup
- 4 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
Tea Base
- 4 cups water
- 4 black tea bags

- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
- Peach slices for garnish (optional)
- Ice for serving
Instructions
- Make the peach syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced peaches, 2 cups of water, and the sugar or honey. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes until the peaches are soft and the mixture is fragrant. Use a spoon to mash the peaches slightly to release more flavor, then strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large heat-safe pitcher or bowl. Discard the solids.
- Brew the tea: Meanwhile, bring the remaining 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat, add the black tea bags, and steep for 5–7 minutes depending on your preferred tea strength. Remove the tea bags carefully.
- Combine and chill: Pour the brewed tea into the peach syrup mixture. Stir in the tablespoon of lemon juice to brighten the flavors. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill thoroughly.
- Serve: Serve the peach tea over ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and peach slices if desired for an extra refreshing touch.
Notes
- You can substitute black tea with green tea or herbal tea for a lighter variation.
- For a fizzy version, replace part of the water with sparkling water before serving.
