Instructions

  1. Prepare Steaks: Let the steaks sit at room temperature for 20 minutes to ensure even cooking. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Season Steaks: Rub each steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.
  3. Grill Steaks: Place steaks on the hot grill and cook for 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare doneness, or adjust time to your preferred level. Use a meat thermometer if needed.
  4. Rest Steaks: Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute before slicing.
  5. Make Tomato Salad: In a bowl, combine the sliced tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion, and chopped basil. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil, then season with salt and pepper. Toss gently to combine and set aside.
