Description

A quick and flavorful ground beef and broccoli stir-fry that’s perfect for a nutritious weeknight dinner. This recipe features tender broccoli florets and savory ground beef cooked with fragrant garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil, creating a delicious Asian-inspired dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Sauces and Oils

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Seasonings

  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil: Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until hot.
  2. Sauté garlic: Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Cook ground beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until fully browned and no pink remains.
  4. Add broccoli: Stir in the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they begin to soften but remain crisp.
  5. Add sauces and oil: Pour in 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon oyster sauce, and 1 teaspoon sesame oil. Stir to coat the meat and broccoli evenly.
  6. Season: Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting according to your preference.
  7. Finish cooking: Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the broccoli is tender but still vibrant in color.
  8. Serve: Remove from heat and serve the ground beef broccoli hot, ideally with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  • You can substitute oyster sauce with hoisin sauce for a slightly sweeter flavor.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • For a low-sodium version, use low-sodium soy sauce and reduce added salt.
  • To make this a one-pan meal, serve over cooked rice or noodles directly in the skillet.
  • Use fresh broccoli for best texture and flavor; frozen broccoli can be substituted but may cook faster.
