- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (whole wheat or panko)
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp finely chopped onion
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
For Serving:
- Whole wheat burger buns
- Lettuce
- Tomato slices
- Your choice of toppings
Instructions
- Prepare the Burger Patties: In a large bowl, mix together the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, olive oil, parsley, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cook the Patties: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Lightly oil the grates or pan. Cook the patties for 5–6 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Serve: Place the cooked patties on whole wheat buns and top with lettuce, tomato, and your favorite toppings.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard into the patty mixture.
- These burgers can also be baked at 400°F for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time.
