Ingredients
Scale
Salmon and Marinade
- 1 lb salmon fillets, skin removed and cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Cooking and Garnish
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, lemon juice, black pepper, and salt until well combined.
- Marinate the salmon: Add the salmon bite-sized pieces to the bowl and gently toss to thoroughly coat them in the marinade. Allow the salmon to marinate for at least 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Heat the skillet: Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
- Cook the salmon bites: Place the salmon pieces in the skillet in a single layer, cooking in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding. Cook each side for 2 to 3 minutes until the salmon is golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve: Remove the salmon bites from the skillet, transfer to a serving plate, drizzle with any remaining marinade or sauce, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for added zest.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the skillet to ensure even cooking and crispy edges.
- Marinating for longer than 10 minutes is possible but do not exceed 30 minutes to prevent the acid in lemon juice from breaking down the salmon texture.
- Use fresh garlic for best flavor; garlic powder can be substituted in a pinch.
- If preferred, skin-on salmon can be used but remove skin from cooked bites before serving.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
