Description

This Hot Fudge Brownie Bread is a decadent and moist chocolate loaf infused with rich hot fudge sauce for an irresistible treat. Perfect for dessert or an indulgent snack, this bread combines classic brownie flavors with a tender crumb enhanced by buttermilk and a glossy fudge drizzle.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup hot fudge sauce, plus extra for drizzling

Optional Ingredients

  • ½ cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set it aside to prepare for baking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set this mixture aside.
  3. Cream Butter & Sugar: In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until the mixture becomes light and fluffy, which should take about 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Add Eggs & Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time to the butter and sugar mixture, followed by the vanilla extract, ensuring everything is fully incorporated.
  5. Combine Wet & Dry Ingredients: Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix gently until just combined to keep the batter light.
  6. Fold in Fudge: Carefully fold in the hot fudge sauce along with the chocolate chips or nuts if you choose to use them. Avoid overmixing to maintain a tender texture.
  7. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50 to 60 minutes. Test doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
  8. Cool & Serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Before serving, drizzle additional hot fudge sauce over the top for extra indulgence.

Notes

  • Ensure butter is softened for easier creaming and better texture.
  • Do not overmix the batter after adding dry ingredients to prevent dense bread.
  • If you don’t have buttermilk, you can substitute with regular milk plus 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar, let it sit for 5 minutes before use.
  • Chocolate chips or nuts are optional but add nice texture and flavor.
  • Use a toothpick test to avoid overbaking and ensure moist bread.
