Description

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until combined.
  6. Bake: Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and serve: Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
