- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to get it ready for baking the meatballs.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, grated ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until all ingredients are well blended.
- Form Meatballs: Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter for even cooking.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the meatballs evenly spaced on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased to prevent sticking.
- Bake: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until they are cooked through and have developed a nice browned exterior.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and serve hot, optionally with additional Korean BBQ sauce for dipping or drizzling.
Notes
- If desired, you can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the heat level to your preference.
- For extra crispiness, broil the meatballs for 2-3 minutes at the end of baking.
- These meatballs can be made ahead and reheated; store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Serve over steamed rice or with a side of kimchi for an authentic Korean meal experience.
