Description

This marinated turkey breast recipe delivers juicy, flavorful turkey infused with a savory and slightly sweet herb marinade. Perfectly roasted to tender perfection, it’s an ideal main course for holiday meals or family dinners, offering a healthy, gluten-free option packed with protein and aromatic herbs.

Ingredients

Scale

Turkey

  • 3 pounds boneless, skinless turkey breast

Marinade

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, low-sodium soy sauce, fresh lemon juice, honey, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, chopped fresh rosemary, dried thyme, paprika, salt, and black pepper until fully combined to create a flavorful marinade.
  2. Marinate the Turkey: Place the turkey breast in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the turkey, ensuring all surfaces are coated evenly. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat thoroughly.
  3. Preheat the Oven: Remove the marinated turkey from the refrigerator about 10-15 minutes before roasting. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for roasting.
  4. Roast the Turkey: Remove the turkey breast from the marinade and place it on a roasting pan or baking dish, discarding the leftover marinade. Roast in the preheated oven for approximately 60 to 75 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the thickest part reaches 165°F (74°C), using a meat thermometer for accuracy.
  5. Rest and Serve: After roasting, let the turkey breast rest uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring moist and tender slices when you carve the turkey for serving.

Notes

  • For enhanced flavor, reserve a portion of the marinade before adding the raw turkey and baste the turkey during roasting with this reserved marinade.
  • This turkey breast can also be grilled over medium heat for about 20 minutes per side, adjusting time based on thickness.
  • Rest the turkey meat before slicing to keep it juicy and tender.
