Description

This refreshing Peach Iced Tea combines the rich flavor of black tea with the natural sweetness of fresh peaches, enhanced by a splash of lemon juice and a hint of mint. Perfectly chilled and served over ice, it’s an ideal beverage for warm days or anytime you crave a fruity, invigorating drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea

  • 4 cups water (for brewing tea)
  • 4 black tea bags

Peach Syrup

  • 2 large fresh peaches, sliced
  • 2 cups water (for peach syrup)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

Additional

  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Fresh mint leaves, a handful (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • Additional peach slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew the tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, remove from heat, and steep the 4 black tea bags in the hot water for 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the tea bags and allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
  2. Make the peach syrup: In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of water and sliced fresh peaches. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 10 to 15 minutes until the peaches are soft and infused. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove solids. Return the syrup to the saucepan, add 1/2 cup sugar, and stir until the sugar completely dissolves. Let the syrup cool.
  3. Combine the tea and syrup: In a large pitcher, mix the cooled black tea and peach syrup together gently. Add 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir to combine all flavors evenly.
  4. Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the peach iced tea over the ice, and garnish with fresh mint leaves and additional peach slices for a decorative touch. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing taste.

Notes

  • Adjust the sugar amount according to your preferred sweetness level or substitute with honey or a sugar alternative.
  • For a stronger peach flavor, use ripe, fragrant peaches and increase the simmering time slightly.
  • Peach iced tea can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To make it vegan and vegetarian friendly, ensure sugar used is vegan-certified if required.
  • Use cold brew tea method as an alternative to boiling to reduce bitterness.
