Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 12 ounces pasta
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 4 cups Swiss chard, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Prepare the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Brown the sausage: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until it’s browned and cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Sauté garlic and spices: Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet with the sausage. Cook for about one minute until fragrant, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
- Wilt the Swiss chard: Stir in the chopped Swiss chard and pour in the chicken broth. Simmer until the chard has wilted down and absorbed some of the broth, about 3-5 minutes.
- Toss pasta with the sausage mixture: Add the cooked pasta into the skillet with the sausage and chard mixture. Toss well to combine and evenly coat the pasta.
- Finish with Parmesan: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta and toss again until fully incorporated and creamy.
- Serve: Serve the pasta immediately while warm and enjoy.
