For the Stir-Fry:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Shrimp: In a medium bowl, toss shrimp with cornstarch and 1 tablespoon soy sauce. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix remaining 1 tablespoon soy sauce with oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil.
  3. Stir-Fry: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add asparagus and stir-fry until crisp-tender. Add garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Cook until fragrant. Add shrimp and cook until pink. Pour in the sauce, stir to coat, and cook until heated through.
  4. Finish and Serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
