- 1 cup crab meat
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Other Ingredients
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the lasagna later.
- Cook Noodles: Boil the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic: In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, releasing its aroma.
- Cook Shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet along with the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through.
- Mix Cheese and Crab: In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, crab meat, and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, blending gently.
- Layer Sauce: Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of your baking dish to prevent sticking and add flavor.
- Assemble First Layer: Place 3 cooked lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the seafood and cheese mixture on top evenly.
- Add Sauce and Parmesan: Spoon another layer of marinara sauce over the seafood mixture and sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese.
- Repeat Layers: Add another 3 noodles, the remaining seafood mixture, more marinara sauce, and Parmesan. Finish with the last 3 noodles and the remaining marinara sauce.
- Top with Mozzarella: Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top layer of sauce and noodles.
- Bake: Place the assembled lasagna in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
- Make sure not to overcook the shrimp during sautéing to avoid rubbery texture.
- Use fresh or good-quality crab meat for best flavor.
- Let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes after baking before slicing to help it set.
- You can substitute marinara sauce with a tomato basil sauce for a slightly different flavor profile.
- Feel free to add a pinch of red pepper flakes in the shrimp sauté for a spicy kick.
