Instructions
- Cook the Whole Wheat Spaghetti: Prepare according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water.
- Sauté Garlic and Shrimp: In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter. Add garlic, shrimp, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook shrimp until pink, about 2–3 minutes per side. Set shrimp aside.
- Deglaze the Pan: Pour in white wine or broth and lemon juice. Simmer to reduce slightly, about 2–3 minutes.
- Combine Ingredients: Add cooked pasta and reserved water to the skillet. Toss to coat. Return shrimp to the pan and warm through.
- Finish and Serve: Sprinkle with parsley and lemon zest. Serve hot with Parmesan if desired.
Notes
- For a lighter version, reduce the butter and omit the Parmesan.
