Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 1 cup sugar cookie dough (store-bought or homemade)
Cheesecake Filling
- 16 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
Toppings
- Sprinkles or fresh fruit (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9-inch springform pan with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Make the Crust: Press the sugar cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan, ensuring it forms a uniform layer about half an inch thick, creating the crust base for your cheesecake.
- Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the sour cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition. Beat in the eggs one at a time until the mixture is fully combined and smooth.
- Assemble and Bake: Pour the cheesecake filling over the sugar cookie crust in the springform pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the edges are set but the center still has a slight jiggle when gently shaken.
- Cool and Chill: Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside to cool for about an hour. Then, refrigerate it for at least four hours or overnight to allow it to set completely.
- Add Toppings and Serve: Before serving, decorate the cheesecake with colorful sprinkles or fresh fruit according to your preference for a festive finish.
Notes
- Use room temperature eggs and cream cheese to ensure a smooth cheesecake filling without lumps.
- Do not overbake; the center should remain slightly jiggly to prevent dryness after chilling.
- Allow the cheesecake to chill thoroughly for best texture and flavor.
- Feel free to experiment with different toppings such as berries, chocolate chips, or edible flowers for variety.
- A springform pan is best for easy removal without damaging the crust.
