Ingredients
Scale
Meat Filling
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
- 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onions
Dough & Toppings
- 1 (8-ounce) tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Optional toppings: sour cream, salsa, chopped cilantro
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it is fully browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat to keep the bites from being greasy.
- Season the Beef: Stir in the taco seasoning, ranch seasoning mix, and 1 tablespoon of water into the beef. Let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes to meld the flavors, then remove from heat.
- Mix in Cheeses and Onions: Add the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped green onions to the beef mixture. Stir until everything is well combined and creamy.
- Prepare the Crescent Dough: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Cut each triangle in half to make smaller triangles suitable for bite-sized portions.
- Fill and Seal: Place about 1 tablespoon of the beef mixture onto each small triangle of dough. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal well so that the filling doesn’t leak out during baking.
- Arrange and Season: Place the filled dough bites on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder to add flavor and ensure a golden crust.
- Bake: Bake in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until the crescent bites are golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm with optional toppings like sour cream, salsa, and chopped cilantro for added freshness and taste.
Notes
- Substitute ground turkey or shredded chicken for ground beef for a different protein option.
- These bites make fantastic party appetizers or game-day snacks.
- They can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
- If you prefer a spicier bite, add some chopped jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture.
