Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast: In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, active dry yeast, and a pinch of granulated sugar. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until the mixture is foamy, indicating the yeast is active.
  2. Make Dough: Add the remaining sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead Dough: Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size.
