Ingredients
Scale
Banana Pudding Mixture
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup prepared banana pudding
Assembly
- 1 package ladyfingers (about 24 pieces)
- 1/4 cup milk (for dipping ladyfingers)
- Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
- Optional: chocolate shavings or additional banana slices for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare Banana Pudding: Prepare the banana pudding according to package instructions or your favorite homemade recipe. Allow it to cool completely before proceeding to ensure the best texture.
- Make the Cream Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip the mixture using a hand or stand mixer until soft peaks form to achieve a light and airy texture.
- Fold in Banana Pudding: Gently fold the prepared banana pudding into the whipped cream mixture until well blended, creating a smooth and flavorful filling.
- Dip Ladyfingers: Pour the milk into a shallow dish. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the milk just long enough to moisten without making them soggy. Arrange the dipped ladyfingers in a single layer at the bottom of your serving dish.
- Layer Filling and Bananas: Spread half of the banana pudding cream mixture evenly over the layer of ladyfingers. Then, add a layer of sliced ripe bananas over the cream.
- Repeat Layers: Add another layer of milk-dipped ladyfingers and spread the remaining banana pudding mixture on top to complete the layering.
- Chill: Cover the assembled tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set properly.
- Garnish and Serve: Before serving, dust the top generously with unsweetened cocoa powder and optionally garnish with chocolate shavings or additional banana slices for extra appeal.
Notes
- Ensure ladyfingers are only briefly dipped in milk to prevent sogginess.
- For a stronger banana flavor, use very ripe bananas or consider mashing a portion into the pudding mixture.
- This dessert is best served chilled and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- For a dairy-free alternative, substitute mascarpone and heavy cream with coconut cream and a suitable vegan cream cheese.
