Description

This refreshing Blueberry Iced Tea combines the natural sweetness of fresh blueberries with the bold flavors of black tea and a hint of lemon. Perfectly chilled and lightly sweetened, it’s an ideal beverage for warm days or anytime you crave a fruity, cooling drink enhanced with mint leaves for extra freshness.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 3 black tea bags
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

Fruit and Flavorings

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Blueberries: Rinse 1 cup of fresh blueberries under cool running water and pat them dry with a clean towel.
  2. Brew the Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat and steep 3 black tea bags in the hot water for 5 minutes to extract flavor.
  3. Sweeten the Tea: While the tea is still warm, stir in 1/2 cup granulated sugar until fully dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness to your preference.
  4. Add Blueberries and Lemon: Stir in the fresh blueberries and 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice into the warm tea. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the blueberries to infuse the tea.
  5. Chill the Tea: Fill a pitcher with plenty of ice cubes. Pour the blueberry tea mixture over the ice and stir gently to cool it down quickly.
  6. Serve: Pour the chilled blueberry iced tea into glasses filled with ice. Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves and a few floating blueberries for a visually appealing and refreshing touch.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sugar amount or substitute with honey or a sugar substitute to suit your taste or dietary needs.
  • For a stronger blueberry flavor, muddle some blueberries before adding them to the tea.
  • This tea is best served fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
  • Add a splash of sparkling water for a fizzy twist.
  • Use organic tea and fresh lemon juice for the best taste.
