Description

This Chicken Ranch Pasta Bake is a creamy, cheesy casserole that combines tender shredded chicken, penne pasta, and a flavorful ranch-seasoned Alfredo sauce. Topped with melted cheddar and mozzarella cheese and crispy bacon, it’s a comforting and easy-to-make dinner perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 1/2 cups Alfredo sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled turkey bacon or bacon
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and ensure easy clean-up.
  2. Cook Pasta: Cook the penne pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain well to stop the cooking process and set aside.
  3. Make Sauce Mixture: In a large bowl, combine Alfredo sauce, sour cream, milk, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to blend flavors.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Add the cooked pasta, shredded chicken, half of the shredded cheddar cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, and the crumbled bacon into the sauce mixture. Stir until all ingredients are evenly coated with the sauce.
  5. Assemble Bake: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly on top.
  6. Bake: Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the casserole is hot, bubbly, and the cheese is melted and lightly golden brown on top.
  7. Rest and Garnish: Remove from the oven and let the dish rest for a few minutes to thicken slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving to add a fresh flavor and color contrast.

Notes

  • Rotisserie chicken works great for convenience and adds extra flavor.
  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream for a lighter, healthier option.
  • Adding steamed broccoli or other vegetables can boost nutrition and add texture.
