Description

Chocolate Lasagna is a delightful no-bake layered dessert combining a buttery Oreo cookie crust, creamy sweetened cream cheese layer, rich vanilla and chocolate pudding filling, and topped with whipped topping, more cookie crumbs, and chocolate drizzle for an indulgent treat perfect for gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 package (14.3 ounces) regular Oreo cookies
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 ounces (half the container) whipped topping, thawed

Pudding Layer

  • 1 box (5.1 ounces) instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 box (5.1 ounces) instant chocolate pudding
  • 3 cups cold milk

Topping

  • Remaining 8 ounces whipped topping, thawed
  • Reserved Oreo cookie crumbs (about 1 cup)
  • Chocolate syrup, for drizzling
  • Chocolate curls or chopped chocolate candy (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs, reserving about 1 cup for the topping. Mix the remaining crumbs with melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan to form an even crust. Chill in the refrigerator until set.
  2. Make the cream cheese layer: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and half of the whipped topping (8 ounces) until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Spread this cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled Oreo crust. Place it back in the refrigerator and chill for 10 to 20 minutes to set.
  3. Prepare the pudding layer: In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix, instant chocolate pudding mix, and cold milk until the pudding thickens, usually around 2 minutes. Make sure the mixture is smooth with no lumps.
  4. Assemble the pudding layer: Spread the thickened pudding mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer in the pan.
  5. Add the whipped topping: Evenly spread the remaining whipped topping (the other half of the container) over the pudding layer, smoothing it out for a clean finish.
  6. Finish with toppings: Sprinkle the reserved Oreo crumbs over the whipped topping. Drizzle chocolate syrup artistically over the top. Optionally, add chocolate curls or chopped chocolate candy for an extra decorative and flavorful touch.
  7. Chill to set: Place the entire dessert in the refrigerator and chill until fully set before slicing and serving, usually for at least 2 hours.

Notes

  • For best results, chill the dessert overnight to allow the layers to fully set and flavors to meld.
  • You can substitute regular Oreos with Oreo Thins or a similar sandwich cookie for a slightly different texture.
  • Use a sharp knife dipped in hot water to slice clean pieces of lasagna.
  • Chocolate curls or candy topping is optional but adds an elegant look.
  • This dessert can be made a day ahead, making it perfect for parties.
