Ingredients
Scale
Sauce Mixture
- 1 large jar (48 ounces) pasta sauce of your choice (we like Ragu’s traditional sauce)
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, drained
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
Main Ingredients
- 1 bag (25 ounces) frozen ravioli
- 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Prepare Crock Pot: Spray the insert of a large 7-quart crock pot with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Mix Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine the pasta sauce, drained diced tomatoes, and minced garlic until evenly mixed to create the sauce base.
- Layer Ingredients: Spoon one-third of the sauce mixture into the bottom of the crock pot. Then layer one-third of the frozen ravioli on top, followed by sprinkling one-third of both the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the ravioli.
- Repeat Layers: Repeat the layering process two more times with the remaining sauce, ravioli, and cheeses, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
- Cook: Cover the crock pot with the lid and cook on low heat for 3 to 4 hours, or until the ravioli are heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Once cooked, carefully spoon out the cheesy ravioli, serve warm, and enjoy your delicious, hands-off meal.
Notes
- Use a 7-quart crock pot or larger to ensure even cooking and accommodate layering.
- Do not thaw frozen ravioli before layering; adding them frozen ensures they cook properly and don’t turn mushy.
- Feel free to substitute mozzarella and Parmesan with your preferred cheeses such as provolone or fontina for different flavor profiles.
- For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning or fresh basil between layers.
- This dish pairs well with a fresh green salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
- Ensure the diced tomatoes are well drained to avoid excess liquid in the crock pot.
