Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 2 pounds frozen fully cooked meatballs
- 2 cans (10.5 ounces each) condensed French onion soup
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese or provolone cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Prepare the Meatballs: Place the frozen fully cooked meatballs directly into the crock pot, spreading them out evenly to ensure uniform heating.
- Mix the Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the condensed French onion soup, onion soup mix, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined to create a flavorful sauce base.
- Combine and Cook: Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the meatballs in the crock pot. Stir gently to coat all the meatballs evenly with the sauce. Cover the crock pot.
- Slow Cook: Cook on low setting for 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours, until the meatballs are thoroughly heated and the sauce is rich and flavorful.
- Add Cheese: About 10 minutes before serving, sprinkle the shredded Swiss or provolone cheese over the top of the meatballs. Cover again and allow the cheese to melt completely.
- Garnish and Serve: Once the cheese has melted, garnish the dish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm. This can be enjoyed on its own or over mashed potatoes, rice, or with toasted bread for a complete meal.
Notes
- You can use homemade meatballs if preferred, but make sure they are fully cooked before adding them to the crock pot to avoid undercooking.
- Serve these meatballs over mashed potatoes, rice, or with toasted bread to turn it into a heartier meal.
- If the sauce thickens too much during cooking, add a splash of beef broth to thin it out to your desired consistency.
