Description

These Easter Egg Rice Krispie Treats are a fun and colorful twist on the classic no-bake dessert. Featuring vibrant pastel hues achieved with food coloring, these treats are perfect for celebrating the Easter season with family and friends. Crispy, sweet, and chewy, they are an easy-to-make delight that kids and adults will love.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 18 cups Mini Marshmallows
  • 12 Tablespoons Butter
  • 16 cups Rice Krispies Cereal

Food Coloring

  • Pink Food Coloring
  • Purple Food Coloring
  • Yellow Food Coloring
  • Blue Food Coloring

Instructions

  1. Prepare the base mixture: In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter completely. Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth to create the marshmallow base.
  2. Divide and color the marshmallow mixture: Remove the pot from heat and carefully divide the sticky marshmallow mixture into four separate bowls. Add a few drops of pink food coloring to the first bowl, purple to the second, yellow to the third, and blue to the fourth. Stir each bowl vigorously until the colors are evenly mixed.
  3. Add the cereal: To each colored marshmallow bowl, quickly add about 4 cups of Rice Krispies cereal. Stir gently but thoroughly to coat the cereal with the colored marshmallow mixture without crushing the cereal.
  4. Shape the treats: Lightly butter your hands to prevent sticking, then shape each colored mixture into oval egg shapes or press into a pan and cut into egg shapes later. For a uniform look, work quickly before the mixture cools and hardens.
  5. Cool and serve: Place the formed Easter egg treats on wax paper or a greased tray and allow them to cool and set for at least 30 minutes at room temperature. Once firm, they are ready to serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use wax paper or parchment to avoid sticking while the treats set.
  • Shape treats with buttered hands to prevent sticking and achieve smooth surface.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring at a time to control the shade of pastel colors.
  • Store treats in an airtight container for up to 3 days to keep them fresh.
