Ingredients
Scale
Lasagna Base
- 12 lasagna noodles
- Salt and pepper to taste
Shrimp Scampi Mixture
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
Cheeses and Garnish
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the lasagna later.
- Cook Noodles: Boil the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic: In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, taking care not to burn it.
- Cook Shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet. Cook until shrimp turns pink and opaque, usually 3-4 minutes.
- Create Cream Sauce: Stir in the heavy cream and season the mixture with salt and pepper. Let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Assemble Lasagna: In a baking dish, spread a layer of the shrimp and cream mixture, followed by a layer of cooked lasagna noodles. Add dollops of ricotta and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used.
- Top with Parmesan: Finish the top layer with a generous sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Place the assembled lasagna in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving hot.
Notes
- For easier layering, you can slightly overlap the noodles and use more ricotta between layers for creaminess.
- If shrimp is frozen, thaw completely before cooking to ensure even cooking.
- Heavy cream adds richness but you can substitute with half-and-half for a lighter version.
- Allow the lasagna to rest about 5-10 minutes after baking before cutting to help it set.
- Add chili flakes in the garlic butter step for a spicy kick.
