Description

A comforting and flavorful homemade vanilla cinnamon milk tea recipe that can be enjoyed hot or iced. This easy-to-make beverage combines black tea, warm spices, and creamy milk with a touch of natural sweetness, perfect for a cozy moment or a refreshing drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 black tea bag (or 1 teaspoon loose-leaf black tea)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Dairy & Flavorings

  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 teaspoons honey or sweetener of choice (adjust to taste)

Optional

  • Ice (for iced version)

Instructions

  1. Boil Water and Steep Tea: In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add the black tea bag and ground cinnamon to the boiling water, then reduce heat and let it simmer gently for 3-5 minutes to extract the flavors.
  2. Prepare Hot Version: Remove the tea bag from the saucepan. Stir in the milk, vanilla extract, and sweetener of your choice. Warm the mixture until it is hot but do not allow it to boil. Pour the tea into a mug, sprinkle extra cinnamon on top if desired, and enjoy it warm.
  3. Prepare Iced Version: After steeping the tea with cinnamon, remove the tea bag and allow the tea to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, stir in the milk, vanilla extract, and sweetener. Pour the milk tea over a glass filled with ice. Stir well and serve chilled.

Notes

  • You can adjust the level of sweetness by adding more or less honey or sweetener.
  • Use any milk of your choice, including dairy or plant-based alternatives like almond, soy, or oat milk.
  • For a stronger cinnamon flavor, sprinkle ground cinnamon on top before serving.
  • This recipe yields one serving but can be multiplied for multiple servings.
  • When making iced tea, ensure the tea cools sufficiently to avoid watering down the drink with melting ice.
