Description

This Oreo Ice Cream Sandwich Cake is a delightful no-bake frozen dessert featuring layers of creamy vanilla ice cream sandwiches, whipped topping, crushed Oreos, and drizzles of hot fudge and caramel sauce. Easy to assemble and perfect for parties, this cake combines crunchy, creamy, and chocolatey textures into a fun and indulgent treat that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Layer

  • 12 vanilla ice cream sandwiches

Toppings & Mix-Ins

  • 1 (16 oz) container whipped topping, thawed
  • 20 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce, slightly warmed
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base Layer: Line the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish with a single layer of ice cream sandwiches. Cut the sandwiches as needed to fit snugly, creating a firm foundation for the cake.
  2. Add Whipped Topping: Spread half of the thawed whipped topping evenly over the layer of ice cream sandwiches, ensuring complete coverage for a creamy texture between layers.
  3. Sprinkle Crushed Oreos: Evenly distribute half of the crushed Oreo cookies over the whipped topping to add a crunchy element and classic Oreo flavor.
  4. Drizzle Sauces: Drizzle half of the warmed hot fudge sauce and the caramel sauce (if using) over the crushed Oreos to add rich, gooey pockets of chocolate and caramel.
  5. Repeat Layers: Place another layer of ice cream sandwiches on top, then spread the remaining whipped topping evenly over this new layer.
  6. Top with Crushed Oreos and Chocolate Chips: Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreos over the whipped topping and add mini chocolate chips if desired, for extra texture and chocolate bursts.
  7. Freeze the Cake: Cover the baking dish tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Freeze for at least 4 to 6 hours or until the cake is firm and set.
  8. Serve: Before serving, let the cake sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes to soften slightly, making it easier to slice and enjoy.

Notes

  • For an intensified Oreo flavor, mix some of the crushed cookies directly into the whipped topping before layering.
  • You can swap the vanilla ice cream sandwiches with chocolate or mint flavored varieties for a different twist.
  • This dessert is best served slightly softened but still frozen to ensure clean and neat slices.
