Ingredients
Scale
Meat Mixture
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp seven spice blend
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Onion and Parsley: Finely chop the quartered onion and fresh parsley using a food processor to create a finely minced mixture that will blend well with the meat.
- Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, thoroughly mix the ground beef with the chopped onion-parsley mix, salt, black pepper, seven spice blend, and optional cayenne pepper. Use your hands to blend the ingredients evenly ensuring the spices are well distributed.
- Shape Kebabs: Mold the seasoned meat mixture onto skewers, forming them to a thickness of about 1 to 1.5 inches for even cooking.
- Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and brush it lightly with oil to prevent sticking and promote even grilling.
- Grill Kebabs: Place the kebabs on the grill and cook for approximately 4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and nicely charred on the outside.
- Serve: Remove the kebabs from the grill, discard any leftover skewers, and serve immediately while hot for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- You can substitute ground lamb or a mix of beef and lamb for more traditional flavor.
- If you don’t have seven spice blend, you may substitute with a mixture of cumin, allspice, paprika, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
- Serve with pita bread, tzatziki sauce, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
- Leftover kebabs can be refrigerated and reheated but are best enjoyed fresh.
