Description

These homemade Yogurt Flatbreads are soft, fluffy, and easy to prepare with simple ingredients like all-purpose flour and Greek yogurt. Ready in just 25 minutes, they’re perfect for sandwiches, wraps, or as a side to any meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups (320g) all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240g) plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup warm water, as needed

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
  2. Form Dough: Add Greek yogurt and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir together with a spoon until a dough starts to form.
  3. Adjust Consistency: Gradually add warm water, a little at a time, kneading the mixture until you achieve a soft, slightly sticky but manageable dough.
  4. Knead Dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it for 3 to 4 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Divide & Roll: Divide the dough into 6 to 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten each ball into a round about ¼ inch thick.
  6. Cook: Heat a dry skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for 1 to 2 minutes on each side until bubbles appear and golden brown spots form.
  7. Keep Warm & Serve: Stack the cooked flatbreads in a clean kitchen towel to keep warm and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use warm water to help the dough come together more easily.
  • Do not add too much water; the dough should be slightly sticky but not wet.
  • Cook the flatbreads on medium-high heat to ensure they cook through with nice golden spots without burning.
  • These flatbreads are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Optional: Add herbs or garlic powder to the dough for extra flavor.
